Over the years, I’ve sat with the sharpest minds in brain health; tomorrow, those conversations come together in one episode for a Brain Masterclass.

My interest in nutrition has always centred on mental wellbeing. Food is the raw material for how we think and feel. And because ~90% of the body’s serotonin is made in the gut, the gut–brain axis matters. (That serotonin doesn’t cross into the brain, but the signals from our gut, plus nutrients like omega-3s and polyphenols, shape mood, focus and stress.)

Why this matters:

  • Omega-3s (DHA/EPA): support brain cell membranes and signalling

  • Fibre + polyphenols: feed the microbiome → healthier gut signals

  • Steadier blood sugar: fewer dips that tank energy and mood

To go with the episode, I’m sharing the brain-supportive recipes I’ve been leaning on while finishing the last part of my book.

It has been a while since I have shared my favourite recipes, so send me a picture of you tagging me in a picture if you make them, it makes me so happy to see you cooking them!

🍓 Mixed Berry Baked Oats

A breakfast designed to fuel neurotransmitters and steady brain energy

This recipe combines slow-release carbs, prebiotic fibre, and brain-supporting micronutrients to nourish your gut (where many neurotransmitters are made) and provide your brain with a consistent stream of glucose - its preferred fuel source.
